Are you ready for more Venom? If you enjoyed watching Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock bond with a gooey alien parasite and fight other gooey alien parasites, then you’re in luck. Venom 3 is officially happening, and it promises to be bigger, bolder, and more symbiotic than ever.

But what do we know about Venom 3 so far? When will it come out? Who will be in it? What will it be about? And most importantly, will there be more scenes of Venom making breakfast?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything you need to know about Venom 3, the third installment in Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off series.

When is Venom 3 coming out?

Venom 3 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but we can make an educated guess based on the previous movies. The first Venom came out in October 2018, and the second one, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, came out in October 2021 (after being delayed several times due to the pandemic).

So, if Sony follows the same pattern, we can expect Venom 3 to hit theaters in October 2024. That’s still a long way off, but at least we know that the movie is already in pre-production, as Tom Hardy revealed on his Instagram page in February 2023.

Who is in Venom 3?

We don’t have a confirmed cast list for Venom 3 yet, but we can safely assume that Tom Hardy will return as Eddie Brock/Venom, the investigative journalist who shares his body with a sentient alien symbiote. Hardy is not only the star of the franchise, but also a co-writer and producer of the movies.

We can also expect Stephen Graham to return as Detective Patrick Mulligan/Toxin, a cop who was infected by a piece of Carnage’s symbiote in the second movie. Mulligan is likely to be the main antagonist of Venom 3, as he becomes Toxin, another powerful and dangerous symbiote.

Other possible returning characters include Michelle Williams as Anne Weying/She-Venom, Eddie’s ex-fiancée who briefly bonded with Venom in the first movie; Reid Scott as Dr. Dan Lewis, Anne’s new boyfriend who helps Eddie and Venom; and Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek, Carnage’s lover and accomplice who has sonic powers.

As for new characters, we know that Juno Temple has joined the cast in a mystery role. Temple is best known for her roles in Ted Lasso, Maleficent, and Atonement. Could she be playing another symbiote host? A new love interest for Eddie? A villain? A friend? We’ll have to wait and see.

What is Venom 3 about?

We don’t have an official synopsis for Venom 3 yet, but we can speculate based on the clues left by the previous movies. The plot will likely follow Venom and Toxin being hunted by the government and having to join forces to fight the Xenophage, a genetically engineered symbiote killer that goes rogue.

The Xenophage is a creature from the comics that feeds on symbiotes and their hosts. It was created by an alien race called the Ararat Corporation, who wanted to use it as a weapon against their enemies. However, the Xenophage escaped and started hunting symbiotes across the galaxy.

Venom and Toxin might have to team up with other symbiotes or allies to stop the Xenophage from wiping them out. Maybe we’ll see some familiar faces from the comics, such as Anti-Venom, Hybrid, Scream, or Riot. Or maybe we’ll see some new ones.

But that’s not all. There’s another big twist that could change everything for Venom 3: the mid-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. In case you missed it, here’s what happened: Venom showed Eddie a glimpse of his vast knowledge of other universes and dimensions. Suddenly, they were transported to a different reality, where they saw J. Jonah Jameson on TV revealing Spider-Man’s identity as Peter Parker.

That’s right: Venom 3 could be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), where Tom Holland’s Spider-Man lives. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for crossovers, cameos, and conflicts.
Will Venom meet Spider-Man? Will he be friend or foe? Will he join the Avengers? Will he fight other villains? Will he get a new suit? Will he say “we are Venom” to Peter’s face?

We don’t know the answers to these questions yet, but we do know that Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who wrote the first two movies and also served as a producer. Marcel will be the first female director in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, and she will have a lot of creative freedom to shape Venom’s next adventure.

Marcel has said that she loves working with Tom Hardy and that they have a lot of fun writing Venom’s dialogue and jokes. She has also said that she wants to explore Venom’s character and his relationship with Eddie more deeply, and that she has some surprises in store for the fans.

Venom 3 will be the third and possibly final chapter of Eddie and Venom’s story, so we can expect it to be epic, emotional, and exciting. We can’t wait to see what Marcel and Hardy have cooked up for us, and we hope that they will deliver a satisfying conclusion to one of the most unique and entertaining superhero franchises ever.

Venom 3 is expected to hit theaters in October 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on the cast, plot, trailer, and news. And remember: we are Venom.
